Dealer supplying hashish worth lakhs arrested
Saharanpur. Mirzapur police station of Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh arrested a drug smuggler for allegedly possessing 10.5 kg of hashish. The accused has been identified as Istakar, resident of Mirzapur police station, Saharanpur.
According to the police, a person was seen standing in a suspicious condition. Seeing the police the accused started running away. The police laid siege and caught the accused. During interrogation, he confirmed his involvement in the buying and selling of intoxicants.
The accused used to bring charas at low prices through a woman from Bettiah district of Bihar and sell it at higher prices in Saharanpur and Mussoorie and Dehradun districts of Uttarakhand. According to the police, the price of charas recovered from the possession of the accused is Rs 6 lakh. Further investigation is ongoing in the matter.
