President Murmu visits Prime Minister’s Museum, ‘Narendra Modi Gallery’ to open soon
New Delhi: President Draupadi Murmu visited the Prime Minister’s Museum here on Monday and said that every Indian citizen visiting this museum will feel proud.
The President became the “first visitor” to the Narendra Modi Gallery, which will be opened to the public from January 16, the Culture Ministry said in a statement.
He visited the Prime Minister’s Museum and ‘viewed the exhibits there with keen interest,’ it said.
During his visit of about one and a half hour, President Murmu also visited the Constitution Gallery in the old building of Teen Murti Bhawan, which houses the museum.
The President appreciated the museum and also wrote in the visitor’s book.
He wrote, “I am sure that every Indian citizen who comes here and sees the various galleries of the museum will feel proud.”
The ‘Narendra Modi Gallery’ is located on the ground floor of the Prime Minister’s Museum here and will be inaugurated on January 22, a few days before the consecration ceremony at the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
The construction of the Ram temple and the rejuvenation of other temples have been showcased as part of a section titled ‘Culture’ and other sections in the soon-to-open gallery will include ‘Development’, ‘Environment’ and ‘Security’. ,
The Culture Ministry said that President Murmu took some time to look at its various sections such as ‘Good Governance’, ‘Environment’, ‘Development’, ‘International Harmony’, ‘Vigyanodya’, ‘Cultural Heritage’, ‘Security’ and ‘Public Participation’. Spent.
She was particularly impressed by the immersive and interactive displays. He also visited the experiential zone ‘Anubhooti’.
President Murmu also saw exhibitions of temples of modern India and institutions built soon after independence. He looked with interest at the Toshkahana, where gifts received by the Prime Ministers of the country and abroad are displayed.
It said he also visited the private wing of India’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, where his bedroom and study are located.
In the new building of the museum, the President visited the Freedom and Unity Gallery, which screens films on Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, before visiting the galleries of various Prime Ministers.
He looked at the badminton racket and charkha and the passbook of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri and the letters of Jayaprakash Narayan and his jail diary with great interest.
The President also watched a recreation of the ‘Pokhran 2’ nuclear tests, a demonstration on the Golden Quadrilateral and a film on the Kargil conflict. And, with keen interest, he also watched the demonstration on the India-US civil nuclear deal.
Members of the Prime Minister’s Museums and Libraries (PMML) Executive Council, Chairman Nripendra Mishra, Vice Chairman A Surya Prakash, Directors Sanjeev Nandan Sahay, Vinay Sahasrabuddhe and Swapan Dasgupta were also present on the occasion.
Inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 14, 2022, the museum has become an important destination for children, students, senior researchers and tourists – both domestic and foreign.
