Law School conducts practice session on use of online legal databases
With an aim to motivate students to participate in experiential learning opportunities, an online legal database on basic understanding and recent updates on the use of Manupatra has been developed for the students of 3rd and 5th semester at The Law School, University of Jammu. A practice session was held. ,
Under the guidance of Professor Manju Jamwal, Director, The Law School, the workshop was successfully moderated by Sanjay Sharma, Sales and Support Manager, Manupatra and facilitated by Dr. Sudesh K Tripathi and Dr. Nitan Sharma.
Apart from personally helping the students retrieve cases, statutes and other documents from Manupatra’s vast online library, Sanjay Sharma also provided them access to notifications and circulars of various Central Ministries and online free courses for faculty members and students. Also helped.
Sharing details about the session, Dr. Seema Rohmetra, Associate Professor, The Law School, said that access to justice is a fundamental component of the Sustainable Development Goals. “Whether it is in the context of gender equality, reducing inequalities, labor rights or environmental protection, access to justice acts as a key driver in realizing these ambitious goals. Therefore, strengthening institutional capacities and legal frameworks through the provision of technical assistance – such as subscribing to an online legal database and disseminating their knowledge to relevant stakeholders – would undoubtedly be an important progress towards ensuring that justice Sure and accessible,” she said.
