Conrad Sangma: Congress’ Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra creates ‘huge media buzz’

Meghalaya Chief Minister and National People’s Party president Conrad Sangma has said that Congress’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, which has passed through several northeastern states, has generated “huge buzz in the media” but the party may not get votes.

“I don’t think they will get the result they want,” he told PTI in an interview.

The energy and resources Congress has put into this yatra “may not translate into actual votes and actual seats,” Sangma said.

The yatra, led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, began from Manipur on January 14 and crossed Meghalaya on January 22. It covered five of the eight northeastern states ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in April-May.
