An army soldier was martyred in accidental firing in Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir

Rajouri: An Army soldier was shot dead on Monday near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district after his service weapon accidentally went off.

He said Lance Naik Balveer Singh, who was posted near the Anti Infiltration Interruption System (AIOS), was accidentally hit by a bullet from his service rifle in Nowshera sector.
Police said the Army jawan died on the spot and his body has been taken to a local hospital for medico-legal formalities.
He said necessary legal formalities have been initiated and investigation into the matter is ongoing.
