Take up probe petition against YSRC government after elections: Andhra MP tells HC

Vijayawada: MP Kanumuru Raghu Rama Krishna Raju filed a petition in the Andhra Pradesh High Court seeking a CBI probe into various policy decisions taken by the YSRC government in the state, saying they were designed to ensure monetary benefits to Chief Minister YS Jagan’s family. When the petition came up for hearing before a bench of Justices U Durga Prasad Rao and Venkata Jyotirmoyee, senior advocate U Muralidhar Rao, appearing for the petitioner, said 80% of the respondents in the case alleged that the PIL was for publicity. He said that this is not so and he has no objection even if the hearing of the case takes place after the elections.
The court directed the petitioner to submit a memorandum explaining the reasons for seeking an adjournment in the case, and posted the matter for March 19.
Earlier, Advocate General S Sriram, appearing on behalf of the Chief Secretary, said that there is no need to keep the PIL pending. Raghu Ram Krishna Raju, who appeared in person for the hearing of the case, spoke to the media outside the court, saying he was fighting a legal battle against Jagan’s corruption.
CID will not arrest Pulla Rao and his relative in GST evasion case
The APCID on Monday told the Andhra Pradesh High Court that it has not arrested accused former TDP minister Prathipati Pulla Rao, his wife Venkayamma, daughter Swathi, K Jogeswara Rao, B Ankamma Rao, B Nagamani, BSR Infratech Limited India MD B Srinivasa Rao. Meanwhile, arguments in the criminal revision petition filed by the CID challenging the First Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court’s refusal to grant 10-day police custody of P Sharath, son of Pulla Rao, accused in the same case, ended on Monday.
Paul files PIL for AP elections in last phase
Praja Shanti Party president KA Paul filed a PIL in the AP High Court seeking direction to the Election Commission of India to hold general elections in Andhra Pradesh in the final phase, which is likely to be held in the last week of May.
