Collector took review meeting regarding upcoming Lok Sabha elections
Balodabazar. In view of conducting free and fair elections in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024, district level training is being organized for the members of various committees and units under the guidance of Collector KL Chauhan. In this series, training was given to the members of the election expenditure monitoring and accounting team in the meeting room of the District Panchayat office on Monday. In the training, detailed information was given regarding entry of expenditure incurred by political parties and candidates during elections in various registers and maintenance of related documents. It was told in the training that rates have been fixed for various items used by political parties and candidates during elections, which include breakfast per plate, rental rates for various types of vehicles, tents, pandals, chairs, tables, sound etc. System includes fan, cooler etc.
The amount of materials taken on rent or purchased by the candidate during the election will be included in the election expenditure of the candidate. While filling the nomination form, the candidate will have to provide separate bank account information for payment of election expenses. Along with this, an expenditure register will also have to be maintained to account for the daily expenditure incurred during the elections. An expenditure accounting team has been constituted for each assembly which will maintain the accounts of the election expenditure of the candidates of the respective assembly constituency. The entry of election expenditure will be done by the Expenditure Accounting Team on the basis of the report submitted by MCMC regarding the expenditure incurred by the candidate on advertisement and paid news. During the training, Additional Collector BC Ekka, Deputy District Election Officer RR Dubey, District Treasury Officer Gidode, PMJSY Finance Officer Uttam Turkane were present.
