Confectioner dies after being hit by vehicle following MLA
Jagdalpur. Pedestrian Jinendra Jain, who was injured in an accident that took place a day earlier at Palace Road Chowk in the city, died late on Monday evening. He was admitted to Maharani Hospital after the accident from where he was referred to Macau for better treatment. He died here. Jinendra was a resident of Dockrighat Para and was a confectioner by profession. Jinendra died seven hours after the accident.
It is noteworthy that the driver of the car following the Chitrakot MLA was driving the car at high speed and carelessly, hitting a Fortuner car and hitting the pedestrian Jinendra. The driver of the Fortuner, Rajesh Chavda, did not suffer any major injuries due to the opening of the air bag inside the Fortuner vehicle after the collision and he was not seriously injured in the accident.
While discussing the matter, ASP Maheshwar Nag said that information has been received about lack of some documents of the vehicle. Information is being sought as to how the vehicle with incomplete documents got stuck. Apart from this, a departmental inquiry is also being conducted against the officer under whose signature the vehicle was hired.
