Ponnam Prabhakar asks Congress workers to counter BRS propaganda
Siddipet: Transport minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Monday asked Congress workers to counter the false propaganda allegedly being spread by BRS leaders, including former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. “It is not right to blame the government for the drought as the Congress has taken power only in Karimnagar,” he said, adding that BRS was in power during the rainy season last year.
Addressing a meeting of party workers in Kohera, the minister said people were watching the activities of all parties in the state and rejected criticism of BRS and BJP. He said Congress is fulfilling pre-poll promises one after the other and added that it has already given free travel for women in TSRTC buses, free electricity up to 200 units, domestic LPG cylinder at Rs 500 and Rs 3,500 under Indiramma Housing. Prabhakar also promised crop loan waiver of up to Rs 2 lakh and Rs 500 per quintal bonus for paddy farmers. He said the government has allocated funds for drinking water issues, adding more funds will be sanctioned if the problems are not resolved.
Prabhakar also asked Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar to explain why the BJP-led central government, which has been in power for 10 years, has not yet been able to fulfill its promises. He also asked why BJP has not been able to provide employment to 2 crore people till now.
He claimed that as the saffron party has realized that using Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s name will not get them votes, the BJP has started resorting to Lord Ram’s name to garner support.
