Negligence in election work, notice to two officers and one employee
Balodabazar. Collector and District Election Officer KL Chauhan has issued a show cause notice to two officers and one employee for negligence in election work and has ordered to seek their reply within 24 hours. Which includes District Panchayat CEO ML Mandavi, Balodabazar Naib Tehsildar Akshay Tiwari, Municipal Council Revenue Inspector Surendra Kumar Soni. According to the information received from the Sub District Election Office, District Panchayat CEO ML Mandavi did not make basic arrangements for the SST team, Balodabazar Naib Tehsildar Akshay Tiwari did not reach the strong room at the designated duty place.
A notice has been issued giving a strict warning for not giving report and not working despite being present at the duty place of Municipal Council Revenue Inspector Surendra Kumar Soni. All the above notices have been issued by the Collector on the instructions of the Lok Sabha Expenditure Observer. A static monitoring team has been formed under the Lok Sabha elections 2024. In connection with the Lok Sabha elections, the said team investigates illegal transportation through vehicles and other means at various check posts in the district.
It was the responsibility of the District CEO to make necessary arrangements at the check post for the static monitoring teams. During the visit by Expenditure Observer Lok Sabha Constituency No. 08-Raipur, the static monitoring team was found doing duty sitting in the shade of a tree at Dotopar. Even after being directed till date, District CEO Mandavi has not made arrangements for shade, water, stoppers etc. for the static monitoring team. The Expenditure Observer expressed serious displeasure over the said disorder. Similarly, you were assigned duty in the static monitoring team of Revenue Inspector Surendra Kumar’s Dotopar check post. During inspection, Surendra Kumar was found doing duty sitting in the shade of a tree in Dotopar and no vehicle was checked by him.
This clearly shows that they are not performing their duties and are being seriously negligent in election work. Similarly, for the Lok Sabha elections 2024, a strong room has been made in the agricultural produce market Balodabazar to keep EVM and VVPAT machines. In which as per the instructions of the Commission, the officers have been put on routine duty to inspect the strong room every day and submit the report. But in defiance of the said order, Naib Tehsildar Akshay Tiwari has not submitted the inspection report of the selected strong room. All three have shown serious negligence by not taking the election work seriously, which is also punishable under Section 28-A of the Representation of the People Act 1951.
