Rabindranath Tagore’s 164th birth anniversary celebrated in Dhubri city
Dhubri: The 164th birth anniversary of Kaviguru, Rabindranath Tagore was celebrated with great pomp by Nrityangan, a socio-cultural organization of Dhubri city at its office premises on Wednesday.
On this occasion, many members and artists including Nrityangan President Dr. Pratima Niyogi and Marmita Roy Choudhury paid floral tributes to the portrait of Kaviguru and lit the lamp.
Addressing the program, Dr. Pratima Niyogi said that Tagore was the greatest philosopher of his contemporary period and he contributed immensely to literature, art, dance and drama. He also highlighted his philosophy of love for nature and human values.
In the beginning of the cultural program, music instructor Arpita Mukherjee and child artistes presented Rabindra Sangeet in the hall. All the senior and child artistes of the dance enthralled everyone with Rabindra Sangeet, dance and singing of his poems.
