Preparation completed for Basanta Utsav in Morigaon

MORIGAON: Morigaon Sangbadik Samaj will celebrate ‘Basanta Utsav’ on May 1 at the historic Bihutoli ground. Preparation for Basanta Utsav has been completed. Basanta Utsav will kick off with the hoisting of the flag by the president of the Basanta Utsav committee, senior journalist Ajit Sarma at 10 am. Thereafter the members of the Basanta Utsav committee will felicitate the leaders of the national and ethnic organizations. It will follow a food and clothes donation programme to street beggars. A souvenir titled Barhamthuri will be released on the occasion of Basanta Utsav. State Water Resources Minister Piyush Hazarika will attend the programme. Noted singer Gitanjali Das will perform in the programme.
