Boyfriend-Girlfriend committed suicide together, dead body found hanging from a tree
Gangapaar. Gangapaar. A pair of lovers committed suicide in Bahria of Gangapaar area of Prayagraj on Tuesday morning. Both first cut their wrist veins, then hanged themselves. The incident took place in the forest near Mansaita river in Tulapurvan. Both the lovers were missing from their respective homes since Friday. The young man has been identified as 27-year-old Bhagirathi Yadav, a resident of Ghatampur village of Nawabganj, while the girl was also from the same village. She was about 17 years old. The teenager had come to her aunt’s house in Dhanbalpur a week ago. The police is investigating the matter.
Bhagirathi Yadav was in a love relationship with a teenager from the same village. Both had eloped last year. The teenager’s family had filed a case against Bhagirathi in Nawabganj police station. The police arrested him and sent him to jail. Here, some time ago, he came out of jail on bail. The teenager’s family was constantly keeping an eye on him. A week ago, the teenager was sent to her aunt’s house in Dhanbalpur. On Friday night, the girl left the house on the pretext of going to the toilet and did not return. She was searched in the surrounding area and when she was not found, her uncle lodged a complaint in the Bahria police station. The police was searching for the girl when on Tuesday morning, the bodies of both were found hanging from a tree with the help of a rope in the forest near the Mansaita river.
The love story of 17-year-old Janaki and 26-year-old Bhagirath in Bahria area ended with the tragic death of both. Both tried their best to get married and settle down in a new world. But, it could not happen. Actually, the biggest problem in the love story between the two was that they were intercaste. The girl was a Dalit, while the boy was of Yadav caste. The biggest problem was that both of them belonged to the same village. When the talks of the love story spread, the enmity increased. There were disputes between the families many times. The situation became such that there was a situation of tension between the two castes in the village. Janaki was born in December 2006. The police say that she is above 17 years now, but was not an adult. Both were trying to get married in court. The girl not being an adult was bothering them. When they took a hasty step, the families started looking for both of them. They thought that they will not be able to find them now. In such a situation, they decided to commit suicide. DCP Ganga Nagar Abhishek Bharti says that the statements of both the families have been recorded. Investigation is going on. Postmortem of the bodies is being done. Suicide notes are being searched in the forest.
