Kuwait inferno: Bodies of 3 AP workers handed over to their families
Vijayawada. Vijayawada: The bodies of three migrant workers from Andhra Pradesh who died in a building fire in Kuwait were brought back to India on June 14 and handed over to their families on June 15.
The bodies of Thamada Lokandham, Moleti Satyanarayana and Meesala Eshwarudu reached their native places in Srikakulam and East Godavari districts on Saturday afternoon. Officials of the respective district administrations handed over the bodies to the families of the victims along with compensation cheques of Rs 5 lakh each announced by Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu.
The bodies of the deceased migrants reached New Delhi on June 14 evening by a special Air Force aircraft via Kochi. From New Delhi, the remains were flown to Visakhapatnam via Hyderabad by an IndiGo flight. The aircraft carrying the bodies reached Visakhapatnam at 7:00 am on June 15. Ambulances were kept ready at the airport to take the deceased to their native places.
