Ganja smuggling on bike in Raipur, smuggler arrested
Raipur. On the instructions of Senior Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar Singh, Raipur Police is running a special campaign against drugs under the Mukt Abhiyan, in which all the police stations and the team of Anti Crime and Cyber Unit are continuously taking action. A special team of Anti Crime and Cyber Unit has been formed to take effective action on the Narcotics Act, and all the station in-charges have been directed to take strict action against those selling and supplying drugs.
In this connection, on 21.06.24, the team of Narcotics Cell constituted under Anti Crime and Cyber Unit received information that a person riding a two-wheeler has ganja with him and is coming from Mahasamund to Raipur. On which Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Kirtan Rathore, Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) Sandeep Mittal, City Superintendent of Police Mana Lambodar Patel and Deputy Superintendent of Police (Crime) Sanjay Singh directed In Charge Anti Crime & Cyber Unit and Police Station In Charge Arang to verify the information and catch the accused red handed with ganja. On which, under the guidance of senior officers, a joint team of Anti Crime & Cyber Unit and Police Station Arang police set up a blockade near village Lakhauli overbridge under Police Station Arang area and stopped the two-wheeler coming as informed by the informer. On questioning, the person told his name to be Mohd. Shakeel Khan, resident of Gariaband. When the team members searched the bag kept with him, ganja was found in the bag. On which the team members arrested the accused Mohd. Shakeel Khan was arrested and 01 kg 400 grams of ganja worth about Rs. 14,000 and 01 two-wheeler used in the incident were seized from his possession and action was taken by registering a case against the accused in Arang police station under section 20B of the Narcotics Act.
