Foreign woman raped in hospital, accused arrested
Haryana: Police in Gurugram, Haryana have arrested a man for raping a 51-year-old woman from Kazakhstan. Officials gave this information. According to the police, the accused Thakur Singh (24) was an employee at Artemis Hospital. Police said that Singh allegedly raped the woman on Sunday morning. He told that the woman was admitted to the hospital on July 9 and underwent surgery on Saturday. After this, she was sent to the ‘ward’ of the hodspital, where her daughter was also with her. Police said that on Sunday morning the woman’s daughter saw Singh with her mother and she raised an alarm. Police said that Singh was arrested on the basis of her complaint. The hospital spokesperson said that they give priority to the safety of their patients and will cooperate with the authorities for a fair investigation. The spokesperson said that Singh has been temporarily relieved from service and the patient was discharged on Monday. An FIR was registered against Singh under Section 64(2)(e) (rape) of the Indian Justice Code and he was produced before a local court on Monday, where he was sent to judicial custody, police said.
