STF’s big action, rewarded history-sheeter named in 32 cases killed in encounter
Shahjahanpur: Bareilly unit of Uttar Pradesh Police’s Special Task Force (STF) killed a wanted criminal with a reward of Rs 1 lakh in an encounter in Shahjahanpur district. A senior officer gave this information on Thursday. Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Meena said that the STF team received information that the criminal Shahnoor alias Shanu (38), a resident of Mainather area of Sambhal district, was hiding in Pithanapur village of Tilhar area of Shahjahanpur to avoid arrest.
He said that on Wednesday the STF team surrounded him and in an attempt to escape, he started firing at the team, after which in retaliation, a police bullet hit his chest. The Superintendent of Police said that he was taken to the medical college in an injured condition where doctors declared him dead. Meena said that 32 cases of robbery, murder and dacoity are registered against Shanu in different police stations of Sambhal district.
