YSRCP has ruined the state: Minister
Saluru: Tribal Welfare, Women and Child Welfare Minister G Sandhya Rani alleged that the previous YSRCP government completely ruined the State, betrayed the tribals and ignored their welfare. Speaking to the media here on Thursday, she criticised the YSRCP government for alleged failures on several fronts. Sandhya Rani said the previous government caused a loss of Rs 257 crore to the Tribal Welfare Department by not submitting a single utilisation certificate, which has become a major hurdle in getting funds from the Central government. During the last five years, the government did not provide plates, glasses or anything to the tribal hostel children. She said the present government is planning to provide plates, glasses, blankets, boxes and woollen blankets as well. She alleged that all the nine Integrated Tribal Development Agencies (ITDAs) are in complete chaos. She said nothing was done for the tribals despite having two ministers from the region. She said governing body meetings of the ITDAs would be held within 10 to 15 days. He said he was committed to the development of Saluru Assembly constituency. The minister said 31 water schemes were sanctioned at a cost of Rs 3 crore and a road to Parmathalli Konda was approved at a cost of Rs 1.6 crore. He said there were proposals for sanctioning roads to waterfalls and appealed to people to bring problems to his notice.
