Court summons YouTuber Dhruv Rathi, know the whole matter
New Delhi: A Delhi court has issued summons to YouTuber Dhruv Rathi in a defamation case filed by BJP leader Suresh Karamshi Nakhua. BJP Mumbai unit spokesperson Suresh Nakhua has claimed in his petition that Dhruv Rathi had called him a ‘violent and abusive’ troll in a video uploaded on his YouTube channel. The BJP spokesperson has also sought damages of Rs 20 lakh from Rathi.
District Judge Gunjan Gupta of Saket Court also issued notice to Rathi on the BJP spokesperson’s plea for interim relief and fixed the next hearing of the case on August 6. The BJP leader said that the false allegations made by Dhruv Rathi on cyberspace have caused irreparable damage to his personal and professional reputation and have defamed him.
Dhruv Rathi claimed in the alleged derogatory video that the Prime Minister had hosted violent and abusive trolls like Nakhua and him at his official residence. Actually, this matter started on July 7 when Dhruv Rathi released a video titled “My Reply to Godi YouTubers (Elvish Yadav)” on his YouTube channel. Nakhua objected after seeing this video. He said that these allegations are without any “logic or reason”, this has hurt his reputation.
Let us tell you that Dhruv Rathi is a well-known YouTuber and influencer. He has more than 23 million subscribers on YouTube. He mostly makes videos on issues like social, politics and environment and uploads them on YouTube. Rathi has been questioned many times regarding his content. He has also been accused of making one-sided videos.
