Hyderabad: Visually challenged girl allegedly attacked in school
Hyderabad: A visually challenged girl was allegedly sexually assaulted at the Government Blind School for Girls in Malakpet. The eight-year-old girl studies at the residential school in Malakpet. According to the police, on July 7, a man named Naresh (25), who came to clean the school, sexually assaulted the girl, due to which she started suffering from health problems.
A caretaker of the school witnessed the incident and informed the girl’s parents and took her to Niloufer Hospital. The doctors informed the police about the sexual assault, following which a case was registered on July 16 under various sections of the POCSO Act. On Wednesday, after identifying the suspect, the police arrested a man named Naresh, who confessed to the crime. The police took him on remand. However, the local police are accused of not registering a case when the parents first approached the police and informed them about the crime.
