Tribute paid to late former MLA Vijay Singh
Raipur: Members of the ruling and opposition parties in the Assembly on Friday expressed their displeasure over the delay in giving information about the death of former Manendragarh MLA Vijay Singh. On this, Speaker Dr. Raman Singh said that the delay in information about the late former MLA is objectionable and inappropriate. Later, tribute was paid to the late former MLA. In undivided Madhya Pradesh, two-time MLA of Manendragarh Vijay Singh died on July 17. Tributes were paid to four more late former MLAs of the state, but due to the information of the death of former MLA Vijay Singh not being received by the Assembly Secretariat, tribute could not be paid to him.
Before the start of the Question Hour, former minister Ajay Chandrakar raised this issue and said that he requested the Chair to direct the government to take cognizance of this matter. Leader of Opposition Dr. Charan Das Mahant also agreed to this and said that this is a big mistake. As per the rule, due to not getting the information of death from the collector, it cannot be mentioned in the House. Dr. Mahant said that wrong work is being done through the collector. Such lapses should not happen. Speaker Dr. Raman Singh said that there is a circular of JD that the information of the death of MPs and MLAs should be given to the assembly immediately. But the information of the late MLA has come late. This is objectionable and inappropriate. From this, the situation of the state can be understood. He directed the government to pay attention to this matter.
Later Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam, and other members paid tribute to the late former MLA Vijay Singh. Apart from this, former Rajya Sabha member from Madhya Pradesh Prabhat Jha was also paid tribute in the House. The proceedings of the House were adjourned for five minutes in honor of the deceased.
