Police honored Kargil warrior in CG

Raigarh. Today on 26th July, on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, Gulaban Singh Thakur, who was a Havildar in Rajputana Rifles, was honored by the police officers by giving him shawl, coconut, insignia at the Police Office Raigarh. Gulaban Singh Thakur was a Havildar in the 2nd Rajputana Rifles of the glorious Indian Army. In the Kargil War of 1999, Gulaban along with his battalion had pushed back the Pakistani army which had occupied the high hills. During the meeting with the police officers, Gulaban Singh recalled the Kargil War and told how his battalion had driven the enemies away from the country’s border, he had also been injured in a bomb blast during the war.

Gulaban Singh is currently serving in the Bank of Baroda. He lives in Kevadabari of Raigarh with his parents, wife and 3 children. Gulaban Singh’s children also want to serve the country like their father. Mr. Gulaban said that he wants our youth to know the glorious history of the Indian Army and serve the country. In the felicitation program, everyone gave a bouquet to Gulaban Singh and wished him Kargil Vijay Diwas. Additional SP Akash Markam, DSP Akhilesh Kaushik, DSP Uttam Pratap Singh, Reserve Inspector Amit Singh, Inspector Sukhnandan Patel, Rohit Banjare, Senior Stamp Writer Ashok Devangan, Inspector (A) JP Chelkar and office staff were present in the program.
