Hoshiarpur: Bike thief gang busted, 4 arrested
Hoshiarpur: Police arrested four members of a vehicle theft gang and recovered five stolen bikes from them. DSP (R) Narinder Singh said that after receiving a secret information, the police had set up a special check post near Nasrala and stopped three youths passing on a bike near Mandiala and questioned them, but they could not show any documents related to the bike. He said that when the police interrogated them strictly, the accused told the police that they had stolen the bike from Adampur and had come to this area to sell it.
He said that the police have registered a case and arrested the three accused. He said that after presenting the accused in the court and taking them on remand, when the police interrogated them, the accused told that Surjeet Singh alias Karan, resident of Gignowal, is also their member. Surjeet was immediately arrested. Four more stolen bikes have been recovered on the identification of the accused. The DSP said that during interrogation, the accused revealed that they had stolen bikes from Civil Hospital, Army Canteen, SBI branch located in Bullowal, besides Sonalika Factory.
