Maruti showrooms will have 25,000 electric vehicle charging stations

Business Business: Although Maruti Suzuki is yet to launch its first electric vehicle, the company has started setting up electric vehicle charging stations at Nexa dealerships. According to a report by the Economic Times, the company plans to set up around 25,000 electric vehicle charging stations by the time it launches its first electric concept car, the EVX mid-size SUV. The company plans to create a strong charging infrastructure in over 5,100 service centers across 2,300 cities.

This development in the charging infrastructure makes it clear that the company wants to strengthen its charging infrastructure before launching the eVX. It also revealed that the car is being sold through Nexa dealers. The company will launch the production version of the eVX SUV at Bharat Mobility 2025, which will be held in New Delhi from January 17 to 22.

As far as the design of the Suzuki EVX is concerned, it is completely different than the concept model. It will have a horizontal LED light strip that will cover the entire width of the rear. Equipped with high brake light, shark fin antenna and slow-speed antenna. As far as the look is concerned, the sloping grille, square wheels and muscular side panel hidden in the mesh stand out. 17-inch aluminum wheels have been installed.

Suzuki eVX will be available in single electric motor and dual electric motor models. Can be reserved for international markets like Europe and Japan. eVX can be equipped with a 60 kWh lithium-ion battery and has a range of around 500 km. The pictures found during testing show a dual-spoke steering wheel and dual-screen layout.

The Maruti Suzuki eVX is around 4300 mm long, 1800 mm wide and 1600 mm high. In India, it will compete with other electric models like Mahindra XUV700-based electric SUV, Hyundai Creta-based electric car, Tata Corvette EV, Honda Elevate EV and Kia Seltus EV. The plan is to bring emission-free vehicles to market in 2025 and 2026. The car will be based on Toyota’s 40L architecture, which is derived from the 27PL.
