Punjab: Body of a youth found under mysterious circumstances

Punjab: Body of a 31-year-old youth found under suspicious circumstances on the road behind Jammu Basti today. The deceased was identified as Maninder Singh Sonu. A team of City-1 police reached the spot and brought the body to the Civil Hospital for post-mortem. The family demanded an investigation into the matter to find out the cause of death. The family of the deceased said that Sonu was unmarried and worked as a pharmacist in a private hospital in Mohali. They said that recently he had planned to leave his job in Mohali and take up a job in a hospital in Bathinda. He came to Abohar five days ago to plan this change, they said. The family said that yesterday at 2 pm he left the house on a bike saying that he was going for some work and would return by evening, but he did not return. The family said that they were searching for him and today they got information that his body was found near Jammu Basti. He had some injury marks on his forehead and other parts of the body.
