Old age home will be built from DMF, SAI minister made a big announcement
Raipur. I feel proud to honour senior citizens and elderly people in the felicitation ceremony organized on the occasion of International Senior Citizens Day in Korba district today on the birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi. Every possible effort will be made for the convenience of the elderly. This was expressed by Industry, Commerce, Trade and Labour Minister Shri Lakhan Lal Devangan in the felicitation ceremony of elderly people and senior citizens in the Collectorate Auditorium.
Minister Devangan said that keeping in mind the convenience of the elderly, new senior citizens will be built in Korba district. These senior citizens will be air-conditioned and comfortable from the entertainment point of view. Along with accommodation, medicines will also be provided in the senior citizens. On this occasion, Minister Shri Devangan honoured the senior citizens and elderly people by giving them shawl, coconut and walking stick and wished them. The Cabinet Minister provided motorized tricycles to 08 Divyangjans in the Collectorate premises.
On this occasion, Collector Ajit Vasant said that International Senior Citizens Day is being organized on the birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi. Addressing the elderly, he said that today is the day to acknowledge the contribution you have made to the society. You have a priceless legacy of experiences. You are like a library of knowledge, just as the number of books in the library increases, your knowledge and experience also increases. The Collector gave important information to the elderly about the Maintenance Act. He said that a fully equipped old age home is being constructed in Mineral Institute Trust Mad Nagar. On this occasion, senior citizen Majumdar gave information to the elderly about the Balco Maitri Sangh which has been working for the last 19 years. The elderly shared their experiences in the program. Deputy Director Social Welfare Department Siniwali Goyal, members of Balco Maitri Sangh, senior citizens and elderly were present in the program.
