Sculptors gave their village a new identity across the country
Bhilai bhilai news. Just like Thanod is known as a village of sculptors, similarly a village in Durg district is also famous for making effigies of Ravana. Kutharel village is 12 km away from the district headquarters, where every child knows how to make an effigy of Ravana. In many cities of Chhattisgarh including Bhilai Durg, the effigies for Ravana Dahan on Dussehra are prepared by Dr. Jitendra Sahu of Kutharel.
Dr. Jitendra Sahu says that his grandfather started this work, then his father took it forward and now he is taking this tradition forward. This time he is preparing effigies of Ravana, Meghnath and Kumbhakaran for more than 30 committees. chhattisgarh news
He told that due to lack of space in the village, the work of making Ravana’s face is done at home and the entire structure of the body is prepared in the Dussehra ground of Bhilai. chhattisgarh
