Jal Jeevan Mission: Villagers of Dandpani village are getting pure drinking water
Jashpur. As per the instructions of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, the work of Jal Jeevan Mission has gained momentum in the district. Dandpani is a village located on the Jharkhand border in which a total of four Solar Ekal Gram Yojana have been established by Jal Jeevan Mission through which water is being supplied to 137 functional domestic taps and water is to be supplied to a total of 143 FHTCs. In each scheme, 2 tanks of 5000 liters i.e. a tank of 10000 liters have been installed.
Village Dandpani of development block Duldula, surrounded by forests, is about 35 km from the district headquarters Jashpur and 18 km from the main state road. In which there are a total of 143 functional domestic tap connections in which water is being supplied to 137 FHTCs and work will be completed in the remaining taps soon.
Before the arrival of Jal Jeevan Mission, the villagers used to depend on hand pumps, wells and river for their daily water needs, mainly women used to do the work of filling water. In which a lot of time used to be spent during the day and due to the water level going down in the summer season, there was a problem of water coming late or not coming in the tube well and health getting worse due to water in the rains.
After the arrival of Jal Jeevan Mission, now water is coming from tap to every house in the village, due to which the problem of filling water has ended and the villagers save a lot of time in the day. Under the scheme, now water is being tested and used, due to which water-borne diseases like cholera, vomiting, diarrhea etc. have reduced considerably. As of today, it has been almost 3 months since the scheme started and some work is in progress. Which will be completed soon. All the villagers are happy with water coming to every house and have thanked the Chief Minister and the district administration.
