Punjab: Computer teachers protested as their demands were not met
Punjab: Members of Computer Teachers Association Punjab on Thursday organised a rally at the local Sri Guru Arjun Dev Sports Stadium. They accused the state government of total failure to meet any of the demands of computer teachers working in government schools in the state. State leader of the association Johnny Singla presided over the rally which was attended by computer teachers from schools across the district. They announced that they would participate in large numbers in the relay hunger strike that has been going on for the last 103 days under the ‘Save Your Rights Rally’ in front of the office of Deputy Commissioner Sangrur on December 14.
State president of the association Seetal Singh, Nardeep Singh, Harjinder Kaur, Sandeep Kaur and Jaspal Singh among others addressed the occasion. The leaders condemned the state government for not resolving any of their grievances. The leaders said that apart from false promises, the state government had done nothing for them during its three years of rule. They said that apart from other issues they were demanding regularisation of their services by merging them with the education department without any delay. They warned that if their demands were not met, they would have no option but to intensify their agitation. During this, the people present raised slogans against the state government.
