Jalandhar: Man arrested for selling banned kite string
Jalandhar: Phagwara police have arrested and registered a case against a person accused of selling banned Chinese dore, which is known for its dangerous nature. Acting on information, the city police led by SHO Amandeep Nahar raided the house of Himanshu Gandhi of Varinder Nagar and recovered five spools of the illegal material. Phagwara SP Rupinder Kaur Bhatti, while stressing the commitment of the police to deal with the sale of such dangerous items, said, “Strict action will be taken against the sale of material like Chinese dore, which poses a serious threat to both humans and wildlife.” The banned Chinese dore, made of synthetic coating, is notorious for causing serious injuries due to its sharp and abrasive nature. The accused has been booked under Sections 223 and 125 of the BNS and further investigation is underway. The authorities have appealed to the public to report any illegal sale or use of such materials to help eliminate the threat posed by these dangerous items.
