Raipur. The person who committed the theft by breaking the lock of an empty house has been arrested. Dr. Nikita Minj lodged a report in the Vidhan Sabha police station that she lives in Saddu Sector 08 Vidhan Sabha. The applicant had gone to a wedding function on 19.02.2025 at 11.00 am by locking the door of her house, and on 21.02.2025, when she returned home in the morning and went inside the house, all the stuff was scattered and the cupboard was open. On checking the cupboard, the gold and silver jewellery, cash and other items kept in it were missing. An unknown thief broke the lock of the applicant’s empty house, entered the room and stole the said goods kept in the cupboard. On the report of the applicant, a crime number 88/25 under section 331(4), 305(A) B.N.S. was registered against the unknown accused in the Vidhan Sabha police station.
Under the guidance of senior officers, a joint team of Anti Crime and Cyber Unit and Thana Vidhan Sabha Police inspected the crime scene and started investigating the unknown accused by questioning the applicant and the people around the incident in detail. The team members were observing the footage of CCTV cameras installed at the crime scene and around it and also trying to identify the accused by using informers in the case.
Along with doing technical analysis regarding the investigation of the unknown accused, information was also collected about the old accused of theft and after verifying them, their activities were being monitored. During this time, important information was received about Chandan Chelak, a resident of Kachana Khamhardih, who was involved in the incident and who has also been imprisoned in a theft case earlier, on which the team members traced Chandan Chelak and caught him. On the basis of evidence obtained, on strict interrogation, Chandan Chelak accepted that he had committed the above theft along with his 02 other companions who are juvenile delinquents. On which both juvenile delinquents involved in the incident were also caught. All three were arrested and on their information stolen gold and silver jewellery, cash, 03 mobile phones, DSLR camera, 01 iPhone purchased from stolen money, DVR, WiFi router and watch worth about Rs. 4,00,000/- were seized and action was taken against all three. Accused Chandan Chelak and 01 juvenile delinquent have been imprisoned in theft cases in the past as well.
