Hyderabad: Three women were injured when a lift crashed at an apartment complex in Murad Nagar in Asif Nagar on Sunday night. Local residents told police that the incident occurred when the lift’s rope (traction cable) suddenly snapped as it reached the fourth floor from the ground floor, causing the lift to fall down along with the people sitting in the cabin. According to available information, three people were injured in the incident.
When other residents of the apartment heard a loud explosion, they rushed to the spot and started rescuing the victims. They also immediately called an ambulance and rushed the injured to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their condition is stable. Though there were two children also in the lift, they luckily survived. Local police reached the spot and started investigating the cause of the accident and the circumstances under which the lift failed. Asif Nagar police are investigating.
