Felicitation to 2,488 PLOs who completed 100% of SIR work

Tamil Nadu: The Election Commission has honored polling station officers (PSOs) who distributed and uploaded 100 percent of the calculation forms for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list.

Tamil Nadu Chief Election Officer Archana Patnaik issued a press release on Wednesday:

PLOs are the primary field operatives appointed by the Election Commission of India to prepare and continuously update the electoral roll. They interact daily with voters in each polling station area and serve as the direct link between the election administration and voters.

They work closely with polling station-level officers, supervisors, assistant voter registration officers, and voter registration officers to ensure that all work is completed within the stipulated time.

Out of a total of 68,467 polling station level officers, 2,488 polling station level officers have completed 100% of their work in distributing, collecting, and entering the calculation forms to voters in their polling station areas.

In recognition of their excellent work, the respective District Election Officers have honored the PLOs for their outstanding work. They said this highlights the crucial role of PLOs in maintaining the accuracy and reliability of the voter list and their outstanding contribution to the election process.
