India Tourism Fair: Order for submission of tender documents

Tamil Nadu: The Madras High Court has ordered the filing of documents related to the tender process for the 50th India Tourism and Industrial Expo to be held at Chennai Island Grounds.
A petition filed in the Madras High Court by a company named Fun World India states that the 50th India Tourism and Industrial Expo will be held at the Chennai Island Grounds next year. “Our company applied to participate in the tender to host this exhibition. However, our application was rejected. Our company has successfully hosted the same exhibition six times. Therefore, we have requested that our company be allowed to participate in the tender and that the tender be conducted in a transparent manner,” the petitioner said.
The case came up for hearing on Tuesday before Justice N. Sathishkumar. Advocate M. Vijay Anand, representing the petitioners, argued that their application was rejected on frivolous grounds, awarding the contract to an ineligible company.
Additional Chief Government Advocate J. Ravindran, representing the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation, stated that the tender process was conducted in accordance with applicable rules.
The judge hearing the case later ordered the Tamil Nadu government to file documents related to the tender process and adjourned the hearing until December 4.
