Suspicion and obsessive love lead to the murder of a minor girl in Kerala

MALAPPURAM: The brutal murder of a 14-year-old girl by a 16-year-old boy in Karuvarakundu has shocked the entire state. Police suspect a family feud. It is believed that the accused’s suspicious nature and uncontrollable anger drove him to commit the murder.
The family of the murdered girl was aware of their relationship. The accused, who often became upset when he didn’t see her, had a habit of visiting her home to inquire about her well-being. The girl’s family filed a harassment complaint against him with the police. The police also warned the boy about this. The girl was always afraid of his short temper. On Thursday, the accused forcibly took the girl to school. When she didn’t return in the evening, the family filed a police complaint. The police summoned the accused to inquire about the matter, but he replied that he had seen the girl at school and knew nothing else. At the police’s request, the boy and his father came to the police station on Friday. During detailed questioning, he confessed to the crime. On Thursday, the two took a bus from Karuvarakundu via Pandikkad and Vandyur to Vaniyambalam. From there, they went to a secluded spot along the railway tracks. The accused scolded the girl, suspecting her of being close to another boy. Police said that during the argument, the enraged boyfriend forcibly tied her hands and strangled her to death. After killing the girl, he went to a nearby house in Thodiyapulam on the pretext of drinking water. However, he needed a phone to call his family. After requesting it, a family member gave him one. Police said the murder’s method was typical of a skilled criminal. Police said the accused’s voice showed no hesitation or fear when describing how he committed the murder. The boy’s friends also testified to his wavering behavior and anger.
