Give girls the freedom to take decisions: Gadhi

Jalandhar: Punjab State Commission for Scheduled Castes Chairman Jasvir Singh Garhi on Saturday emphasized the crucial contribution of women to the economic and social progress of the state and the country. He said, “No country, state, or society can progress unless women are given equal status.” Participating as the chief guest at the “Lohri Dhyan Di” event organized by Sarv Sukh Sewa Mission in collaboration with DAV College on the college campus, Garhi said, “The rights of daughters should be advocated from every platform so that they can be strengthened.” Also present on the occasion were Punjab State Safai Karamchari Commission Chairman Chandan Grewal, Punjab Agri Export Corporation Limited Chairman Mangal Singh Bassi, and Director Rajinder Singh Rehal. Addressing the gathering, Garhi said, “The Indian Constitution has given girls equal rights as boys. Because of this, today girls are no less than men in any field. Instead, they are achieving new heights of success in every sector and are making valuable contributions to the economic and social progress of the state and the country.” He appealed to parents to provide their daughters with equal opportunities, education, and the freedom to make their own decisions so they can achieve new heights in life. The Chairman praised the selfless services of Sarv Sukh Seva Mission and the valuable contribution of DAV Educational Institution in the field of education. On this occasion, Sarv Sukh Seva Mission Chairman Arvind Sharma and DAV College Principal Anoop Kumar welcomed the guests. During the event, the college girls presented a cultural program. Gurlal Saila, Sukhjeet Singh, and a large number of students and others were also present.
