Rahul Gandhi, Kharge extend Mahashivratri greetings to the nation

New Delhi: Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, and Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge on Sunday greeted the nation on Mahashivratri and wished everyone peace and prosperity.

Mahashivratri, one of the most important Hindu festivals, is celebrated to honor Lord Shiva and commemorate the divine union of Shiva and Parvati.

In a post on X, Kharge wrote, “Heartiest greetings to all my countrymen on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri. May the blessings of Lord Shiva, the Supreme God, remain upon all of you, and may the light of happiness, prosperity, progress, and joy spread in your lives.”

Rahul Gandhi wished everyone happiness and peace on X.

Heartiest greetings to all my countrymen on Mahashivratri. With the blessings of Shiva-Shakti, may your lives always be filled with happiness, peace, and prosperity. Har Har Mahadev.”

The Congress party also extended greetings to the nation on social media.

The party said in a post on X, “Heartiest greetings to all countrymen on the holy festival of Mahashivratri.”

Congress National General Secretary and Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said on X, “Heartiest greetings to all countrymen on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri. May the Supreme God, Mahadev, Lord Shiva bring happiness and prosperity in all your lives. Har Har Mahadev.”

Mahashivratri is being celebrated across the country with great devotion and spiritual fervor, as millions of devotees thronged major Shiva temples since Sunday morning.

The auspicious occasion is marked by long queues, special rituals, night-long prayers, and holy baths, with security and administrative arrangements in place to ensure smooth darshan and crowd management at major pilgrimage sites.
