OPS Campaign Begins Today in Southern Districts

Tamil Nadu: Former Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam, who has joined the DMK, will commence his election campaign in the southern districts starting today.
As the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections are scheduled to take place next month, political parties across the state have intensified their election campaigns. Senior AIADMK leader O. Panneerselvam—who had been expelled from his party—joined the DMK last month in the presence of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin.
Against this backdrop, O. Panneerselvam will launch his election campaign today with the aim of strengthening the DMK’s presence in the southern districts.
This morning, OPS will campaign in areas such as Kadayanallur, Alangulam, and Courtallam—all falling within the Tenkasi constituency—while in the evening, he will campaign in the Kadayanallur and Sankarankovil constituencies.
On Saturday, OPS plans to campaign in constituencies such as Vasudevanallur, Mudukulathur, Paramakudi, and Tiruvadanai.
O. Panneerselvam is expected to be appointed as the Deputy General Secretary of the DMK and will contest the election from the Periyakulam constituency.
