According to the administration, vehicular movement on the Dehradun-Mussoorie route has been banned between 8 PM and 6 AM due to the risk of landslides. This decision prioritizes traveler safety. Traffic operations will be permitted only after assessing the situation and road safety conditions during daylight hours. Officials state that the risk of sudden debris falls and road subsidence increases during rain in hilly areas, necessitating this precautionary measure.
Mussoorie is a major tourist destination in Uttarakhand, attracting large numbers of visitors daily. Consequently, the road closure may inconvenience both locals and tourists. The administration has urged travelers to plan their journeys only after checking weather conditions and road status.
