Flood wreaks havoc in Odisha, CM takes command
Bhubaneswar: Due to heavy rains in Odisha, there has been a situation of flood and waterlogging in many areas. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi conducted an aerial survey and tour of the rain-affected areas on Sunday. After this, he instructed the officials that all necessary assistance should be provided to the affected people on time.
The Chief Minister took information from the administrative officials about the status of relief and rescue operations and said that the safety of people in flood affected areas should be given priority. He directed the officials to ensure that food, drinking water, health facilities and other necessary help are provided to the affected families.
Heavy rain due to deep depression
According to officials, due to the deep depression formed over the Bay of Bengal, heavy to very heavy rainfall was recorded in many parts of Odisha.
Incessant rains led to waterlogging and flood-like conditions in many districts of the southern, coastal and western parts of the state. An increase in the water level of rivers was also recorded due to rain.
Impact of floods and waterlogging in 13 districts
Officials said that due to heavy rains, its impact has been seen in 13 districts of the state. Roads were submerged at many places in these areas and low-lying areas were flooded.
