Taxi driver in Hyderabad accused of molesting a woman and fleeing with ₹60,000; FIR registered.
Hyderabad: A case has come to light in Hyderabad, Telangana, of a taxi driver allegedly misbehaving with a female passenger and absconding with Rs 60,000 in cash. The incident is said to have taken place near Shamshabad area. Police have registered an FIR in the matter on the basis of complaint and started investigation.
According to the police, this incident happened near Shamshabad on Friday evening. The victim has alleged that the taxi driver harassed her and later ran away with Rs 60,000 kept with her.
Complaint lodged at RGIA Airport Police Station
An FIR has been registered at RGIA Airport Police Station regarding the matter. The complainant has been identified as Naini Nandini, who is a resident of Nalgonda and runs a departmental store business.
According to the complaint, the woman boarded a taxi at Jadcherla to go to Hyderabad around 6 pm on Saturday evening. At that time he had Rs 60 thousand in cash.
Asked for extra money to go to Gachibowli
According to the FIR, when the taxi reached Shamshabad, the driver asked the woman to pay additional Rs 50 to go to Gachibowli. The woman agreed to this and the journey continued.
After this the taxi moved ahead and crossed Thondupalli toll gate. The woman alleges that after this the driver’s behavior changed.
Car stopped near medical store
The complaint states that after crossing the toll gate, the driver stopped the car near MedPlus Medical Shop on ORR Service Road. The driver had talked about buying medicines.
After this, at around 8:30 pm, he stopped the vehicle again on the side of Kothawalguda Service Road. It is alleged that during this time the driver allegedly misbehaved with the woman and caught her.
Woman accused of carrying cash
In her complaint to the police, the victim alleged that the driver ran away with Rs 60,000 kept with her during the incident.
After the woman’s complaint, the police have registered the case and started investigation. The police is now busy identifying and searching for the accused driver.
Police is examining CCTV footage
During the investigation of the case, the police can scrutinize the footage of CCTV cameras installed at the spot and surrounding areas. Apart from this, information related to taxi and driver is also being collected.
