Government has launched a two month long campaign against fake GST registrations which started from 15th May 2023 and will end on 15th of this month i.e. 15th July 2023. Fake registration under GST is a major threat to the country as fraudsters take advantage of it. ITC is done by issuing fake bills and this causes loss to the exchequer.
Shashank Priya also said that the tax department is looking at bringing in more detailed reporting for monthly tax returns filed through GSTR-3B. With the help of this, the process of better matching of GSTR-3B and GSTR-2B will be done. It is an auto-draft statement which helps in filing GST.
