BJP’s downfall has started from Karnataka: CM Siddaramaiah

Bengaluru (IANS). Chief Minister Siddaramaiah told the Legislative Council on Friday that the decline of the BJP has begun in Karnataka and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s influence has waned. He said that wherever the PM went for campaigning, the BJP was badly defeated.

He was making the remarks during the debate in the Council on the Governor’s address.

He said that BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are becoming unpopular among the people of the country.

He said, “PM Modi came to Karnataka 28 times during the assembly elections. No PM in history has done this.”

He said, “The Congress won with a thumping majority in the constituencies where PM Modi held roadshows. The party also won in the surrounding areas.”

CM said, “Congress party has announced free guarantee schemes with the intention of saving people’s money. It is the ideology of Congress that if money is saved in the pockets of middle class and poor people, then the economy will grow. Siddaramaiah said, BJP suffered a humiliating defeat because their mindset is to snatch money from people.

Siddaramaiah said, “Kannada poet Pampa rejected caste and discrimination 2000 years ago. The foundation of tolerance in the state was laid long back.”
