Agra. On Monday night, the police arrested five accused who chased and beat up a tourist who had come to visit the Taj Mahal. There was some ruckus about the youth taking out the vehicle from the tourist. After this, 8 youths in a fit of rage chased the tourist and thrashed him with sticks. To escape, the tourist entered the petha store, but miscreant youths entered the petha store and started beating him.

This entire incident was captured in CCTV. After the video went viral, the police swung into action. The matter is of Sunday evening. A young man who had come from Delhi to visit the Taj Mahal was passing through the Basai Chowki area in his car. There was also a woman with him. Sunday was the day of Parikrama of Agra. That’s why there was more crowd on the roads. A tourist from Delhi was getting out of his car near Tajnagari Basai Chowki Road Shivam Petha Store.
Meanwhile, his car got touched by some youths. Due to this, the youths got out of the car and beat the tourist. The tourist entered the petha store to save his life. But miscreant youths ran after him with sticks and thrashed the tourist. DCP City Suraj Kumar Rai said that no complaint has been received from the victim in this matter. After the CCTV video, the police registered a case and set up 3 teams to identify the accused.
5 youths have been arrested on Monday night. Three accused are still absconding. A case has been registered against the arrested accused and they are being sent to jail. DCP City told that the youths who were involved in the assault did not appear to be parikramas. All the youths wore shoes and slippers earlier. Parikrama is not done wearing shoes. He told that there was a dispute regarding the car. The arrested accused include Deepak s/o Mohan Singh, Karbhana s/o Tajganj, Sunil Kumar s/o Hariom, Brajesh Kumar s/o Murarilal, Karan s/o Satish and Saurabh s/o Sanjay. All the accused are residents of Karbhana village.
