BJP targets Gehlot government over law and order situation in Rajasthan
New Delhi (IANS). The BJP on Friday targeted the Ashok Gehlot-led government in Rajasthan over the law and order situation. The BJP says the law and order situation in the state has turned “worse”, with a “tsunami” of crimes against women and other horrific incidents taking place.
Addressing a press conference at the BJP headquarters here, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said that the situation in Rajasthan is such that criminals are being released from jails at gunpoint. There is fear among the people and the spirits of the criminals are high.
Taking a dig at the Gehlot-led government, Gajendra Singh said, “According to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data, more than 10 lakh criminal cases have been registered in Rajasthan in the last four and a half years. It has become the number one state in the country in terms of crime against women.
Everyday 17 to 18 rape incidents come to light in Rajasthan. On an average, 5-7 murder cases are reported every day. In the last few days, there has been a tsunami of crime incidents in Rajasthan.
At the same time, BJP general secretary Arun Singh, who was present at the press conference, said that law and order has collapsed in Rajasthan and there is ‘jungle raj’ in the state.
