Uproar by the opposition at the time of Foreign Minister’s statement, Piyush Goyal stopped Adhir Ranjan from speaking
New Delhi (IANS). Union External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Thursday made a spontaneous statement in the Lok Sabha after the Rajya Sabha about the success of Indian foreign policy. The uproar by the opposition parties continued even during his statement. Meanwhile, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary kept trying to speak continuously.
After the foreign minister’s statement, the presiding officer, Kirit Premjibhai Solanki, told Chowdhury that he would give him a chance to speak only when the house is in order. After this, at the behest of Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary, the opposition MPs, who were creating ruckus in the well, returned to their respective seats.
But, as soon as Congress leader Choudhary started speaking, Union Minister Piyush Goyal stood up and protested that it was not right. They did not allow the External Affairs Minister to speak, so they will also not allow the Congress leader to speak. Meanwhile, Piyush Goyal attacked the opposition parties for wearing black clothes and said that they were black yesterday, are black today and will be black in the future.
BJP MPs started raising slogans about black clothes, opposition MPs again came to the Well. Ruckus and sloganeering started again. Some opposition MPs were seen tearing papers while raising slogans in the Well. As the uproar escalated, Presiding Officer Kirit Premjibhai Solanki adjourned the proceedings of the Lok Sabha till 3 pm.
As soon as the proceedings of the House resumed at 3 pm, Union Minister Prahlad Joshi demanded the Presiding Officer to nominate the paper-tearing MPs and take action against them. Presiding Officer Kirit Premji Bhai Solanki also condemned this behavior and said that tearing paper and throwing it away is wrong, it should not be done.
