Leopard attacked cattle, villagers in the area panic
Gariaband: These days, due to the terror of leopard and elephant, there is panic among the villagers in the district. Leopard is being seen continuously in different places. Earlier the leopard was seen near the circuit house adjacent to Gariaband town. To track which the Forest Department has installed a trap camera, the leopard has been seen in the Panduka police station premises. Leopard is making cattle its prey. There is an atmosphere of fear among the villagers due to the mischief of elephants. The villagers near Panduka police station are in panic since that time. When a leopard reached near the village and was seen by the villagers hunting a dog. The leopard was also seen going towards a house. Where the people present got scared, a cattle has also been seen running. Along with this, this morning in village Murmura of Panduka area, people saw that a leopard has tried to hunt three to four cattle near the village. The same cattle has died due to leopard attack. Since this incident, there is fear among the people of village Murmura.
In Gariaband, the forest department team had kept an eye on the leopard. Now he got information from Murmura that where a leopard has made cattle its prey. As soon as the information about this was received, the forest department team reached the area of Murmura and asked all the villagers to remain alert. The villagers going to the same forest have been warned not to go to the forest. Murmura and Panduka area is surrounded by dense forest. There are hills around where leopards often come. The way leopard was seen in Panduka police station area and cattle are being hunted in Murmura.
From this it seems that the leopard is coming out of the forest and coming to the residential areas for hunting. Along with leopards, now the movement of elephants has also increased in the area. Two tusked elephants are creating terror in the Panduka area. There is activity of elephants in a dozen residential areas including Sankara Murmura Vijayanagar. The Forest Department and the team of Hathi Mitra are constantly keeping an eye on the elephants. Elephants are damaging vegetable crops along with paddy crops. The forest department has alerted the villagers keeping an eye on the leopard and elephant.
