Two Blinkit delivery boys assaulted in Delhi, FIR lodged
New Delhi, (IANS) | Two delivery boys of Blinkit app were allegedly thrashed by some people for not returning the change in West Delhi’s Rajouri Garden area. An official gave this information on Saturday. Police said they have registered an FIR in connection with the incident. According to police, a police control room at Rajouri Garden police station received a call informing about physical assault on a Blinkit delivery boy, following which a police team reached the spot.
A senior police officer said that on enquiry, it was found that two boys named Aman, a resident of Begumpur area and Gurpal Singh, a resident of Raghubir Nagar, were attacked at a house in Rajouri Garden. The statement of injured Gurpal Singh was recorded, in which he alleged that he had gone to the house to deliver groceries worth Rs 1,655.
The officer said Tarun Suri opened the door and started abusing the delivery boy over the change. The argument led to a physical assault on the delivery boy. Accordingly, a case was registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and investigation was initiated.
The alleged persons have also alleged against the delivery boy that he misbehaved with the women present in the house and used derogatory words, the official said. Necessary action is being taken.
