Chandrababu Naidu Part Of NTR’s 100-coin Launch Despite History Of Betrayal: CM Jagan
The war of words between the ruling YSRCP and TDP continues. In a fresh attack, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy while addressing a public meeting in Chittoor district slammed the former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and the TDP party.
Criticizing Chandrababu Naidu, CM Jagan stated, “They (TDP) are the same who snatched (former Andhra Pradesh CM) NTR’s position in a backhanded manner, stole his party, and ultimately bore sole responsibility for his demise. The images you see right now are of them decorating NTR’s monuments and acting respectfully in front of his portrait. We are currently seeing Chandrababu’s brazen attempt to be a part of the commemorative ₹100-coin honouring NTR.”
Mentioning the Punganur violence that took place on August 4, CM Jagan said, “You are all aware of the Punganur and Angallu violence. Stocking up their (TDP) car with weapons, they arrived at the scene and began creating a ruckus by throwing stones and beer bottles at police officials. I find it strange what caused them to act in such a manner. All the cops did was to instruct Chandrababu Naidu and his party members to follow the instructed path where permission was granted as there were other political parties that were conducting an event along the path Naidu was adamant to take. How did the TDP workers respond? They attacked our police officers with sticks and beer bottles, severely injuring one of their eyes in the process. The TDP party allegedly attacked 48 police officers. The party is complicit in such assaults and, God forbid, if the police respond to their unruly behaviour, Naidu and party members are extremely skilful at playing politics over dead bodies, which is a terrible state of affairs!”
Reacting to the comments made by CM Jagan, TDP spokesperson Pattabhi Ram said, “On the day when the entire Telugu community is feeling so proud over the release of ₹100-coin in the memory of late NTR by the President of India commemorating his 100th birth anniversary, it is unfortunate that Chief Minister Jagan has been making some unwanted remarks and criticising Chandrababu Naidu over his presence at the event. In which capacity is CM Jagan making such remarks? People today remember CM Jagan as a person who removed NTR’s name from the university. It is Chandrababu Naidu who is taking forward the legacy of NTR.”
Ram further added, “In the Punganur violence, the TDP has demanded a CBI probe and has given evidence where YSRCP cadre came where Chandrababu Naidu’s rally was being taken up.”
