Woman commits suicide by jumping from building with newborn over minor dispute

Thane (Maharashtra): Frustrated by the ongoing marital dispute in Maharashtra’s Thane district, a 26-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by jumping from a high-rise building along with her newborn child. According to the police, the incident took place after a heated argument between the woman and her husband over a trivial matter.

Actually, Priyanka Mohite lived with her husband and son in a building located on Ghodbunder Road. Kasarvadavali police station inspector (crime) YS Awahad said the incident occurred around 1.30 am. There was a disagreement between husband and wife when the wife was refused to go to her sister’s house for Rakshabandhan. The husband prevented the wife from traveling with the newborn.

After this, upset Priyanka Mohite jumped from the balcony with her son. Neighbors saw him soaked in blood and took him to the nearest hospital. Where the doctors declared both dead. The bodies were sent to the government hospital for post-mortem. This matter is being investigated.
